Rules
A team consists of a maximum of 12 players and two goalies, of which four players and one goalie are on the court at any given time. Two teams are playing against each other on a court 40m long and 20m wide. A game lasts four quarters of 12 minutes and is led by two referees. Two assistants support them by managing the scored goals and stopping the time.
The most important rules are:
-
No physical or body/stick contact
-
The ball can only be led in the stick, can neither be batted nor be forwarded with the body.
-
A player may maintain the ball in the stick for a maximum of 5 seconds.
-
The player in posession of the ball may only run or stand still, walking is prohibited.
-
If the ball falls to the ground, the player can either pick it up with the stick or cover it. For this the ball has to be covered with the head of the stick. After that, the ball is brought back into the game from the outside or if it is within the own half of the field it is kept on playing from this point of the field.
-
While running the stick has to be hold with two hands. Catching, throwing and covering the ball is allowed with one hand.
-
From the outside one may run on the field with the ball or pass it to another player. Five-second-rule applies here as well.
-
In front of both goals is a semicircle with a radius of 2,75m, which may not be entered by the attacking team. In this circle the goalie may save the ball with his body or carry the ball with his hands.
-
Double-backing and zone defending is prohibited. Every defender has to be assigned to one attacker.
-
The defender has only the right to interfere with her/his opponent. Besides she/he can intercept the flying ball.
